POLICE have arrested two men suspected of beating two workers after their orders were delivered late at a restaurant in Jalan Perhentian Haji Salleh, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday morning.
Sentul district police chief Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the men scolded and beat up the two workers using a broom before leaving.
One of the men returned later with a friend and berated the the again before wrecking the equipment at the restaurant, causing losses of around RM12,000.
“Acting on a MERS 999 call, the police dispatched a team to the location and the two suspects were caught at a nearby stall,” Sukarno said in a statement last night, adding a baton and a helmet believed to have been used in the assault were also seized.
Checks revealed that one of the suspects had a long criminal record.
The suspects would be brought to court for a remand order to facilitate investigations under sections 324 and 427 of the Penal Code. – Bernama, August 26, 2023.
