MUHYIDDIN Yassin’s son-in-law and a lawyer, who are reported to have fled the country after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) listed them as persons of interest in an ongoing investigation, have been placed on Interpol’s red notice.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain confirmed with Malay daily Utusan Malaysia that the verbal request for the red notice for Muhammad Adlan Berhan and lawyer Mansoor Saat has been approved.

Razarudin said the MACC made the request on August 15.

Adlan is married to Muhyiddin’s daughter Nabilah, while Mansoor, the lawyer, are said to be key figures in NERS Sdn Bhd – the firm that was awarded a 12-year contract to monitor the immigration of foreigners to Malaysia as well as to issue the Visit Pass (Temporary Employment) in 2011.

The MACC, which said the duo left the country in May, is investigating that contract for graft.

Both men, in statements released by their lawyers, denied they are on the run.

Adlan, however, claimed he was a victim of a “witch hunt” and had suffered severe damage to his reputation after MACC publicly accused him of being on the run.

Mansoor, on the other handm claimed that he was “collateral damage” due to political persecution. – August 25, 2023.
