THE Education Ministry (MOE) said it will assess challenging subtopics in the syllabus to detect those not aligned with students’ needs.
In a statement today, the ministry announced this move is being undertaken, in accordance with specifications in the Standard Curriculum and Assessment Document.
“The MOE appreciates suggestions and recommendations from stakeholders and the public regarding the ongoing school curriculum, which includes the Revised 2017 Primary School Standard Curriculum and the Secondary School Standard Curriculum,” it said in the statement.
The MOE said 1,600 participants, including teachers, lecturers, parents, civil society group representatives and industry proxies, have engaged in 21 sessions to create a new curriculum.
“During the sessions, they were asked to share their perspectives. The MOE will conduct an online review of the 2027 School Curriculum from August 25 to September 15, 2023, through this link,” the statement said. – Bernama, August 24, 2023.
