MAZNAH Salleh, the wife of Penang Umno liaison committee chairman Musa Sheikh Fadzir, died yesterday at a private medical centre in Seberang Jaya. She was 70. 

Musa said his wife died at about 7.40pm while receiving treatment for stroke at the private hospital. 

“She had suffered a stroke earlier and was undergoing treatment, including physiotherapy. She complained of chest pains before I took her to the hospital for treatment. 

 “The remains were brought to our home (Permatang Pauh) last night before being taken to Islahiyah Mosque in Tawar (Kedah) for funeral prayers and burial at around 9am today. Tawar is my hometown,” he said. 

He described his late wife as a kind and loving person.  

He thanked all who paid their last respects to his late wife, offered condolences to the family, and had prayed for the deceased.  

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his condolences to Musa. 

Through a Facebook post, Zahid, who is also Umno president, prayed that the deceased’s soul would be placed among the righteous. 

“Saddened by the news of the passing of Datin Maznah, wife of Datuk Musa yesterday,” he said. – Bernama, August 21, 2023.
