THE body of Muhammad Hafiz Mohamad Salleh, the delivery rider who died in the aircraft crash near Bandar Elmina, Shah Alam, on Thursday, will be returned to his family today, Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said.

He said the 32-year-old’s body had been handed over to the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), which is making the arrangements.

“The body has been handed over this morning to Jais and it will organise the journey back to Sungai Petani, Kedah, as per the wishes of the deceased’s family,” Hussein told a press conference today.

He said the Chemistry Department was still going through more than 200 samples.

“From DNA testis, we have a lead where one body has been identified,” he said.

“And besides the DNA tests, we have also conducted fingerprint identification where Bukit Aman could identify eight bodies.”

Hafiz and an e-hailing driver were killed when they were in the path of the plane that crashed on Thursday.

The Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) light business jet aircraft flying from Langkawi to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang crashed at about 2.50pm, killing all six passengers and two crew members on board. – August 19, 2023.
