PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) has denied the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition a two-thirds majority in Selangor.

The unity pact has managed to form a government after winning 32 seats against PN’s 19 seats.

Five seats are left to be officially announced.

PH-BN would have needed 38 seats to gain a two-thirds majority.

Selangor is the only state where the incumbent ruling pact, PH in this case, has failed to gain a two-thirds majority.

Elsewhere, all ruling pacts managed to retain their respective states with a two-thirds majority or even a supermajority. – August 12, 2023.
