PAKATAN Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will talk over the menteri besar candidate for Negri Sembilan, BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan said. 

The Rembau lawmaker said the nominee will then be presented to Yang di-Pertuan Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir for his consideration. 

“The unity government presidential council will discuss the suitable menteri besar candidates in Negri Sembilan,” Mohamad, fondly known as Tok Mat, told reporters at the Umno headquarters today. 

“We will then nominate the suitable candidate and we will seek the blessing and approval of Tuanku Muhriz. 

“The appointment of menteri besar is at Tuanku Muhriz’s discretion. His Majesty will appoint whoever is suitable. 

“If our candidate is accepted, alhamdullilah. If not, it is up to His Majesty to choose a candidate from the coalition that has the majority,” the defence minister added. 

Previously PH had said incumbent MB Aminuddin Harun would be retained if PH-BN wins the state. – August 12, 2023.
