BARISAN Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged authorities to monitor vote-fishing using cash ahead of the Saturday state elections.
Zahid, who is also Umno president, issued the call to enforcement agencies including police, the Election Commission and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
“The opponents are quiet right now, they don’t carry out activities openly. I’m afraid they will use last-minute strategies.”
He said win or lose, it should be done democratically.
The Deputy Prime Minister said this before launching the Madani Career Carnival in Gombak today.
He said all political parties need to compete in a healthy manner and victory must not be achieved through “political charity”. – Bernama, August 10, 2023.
