PENANG’S administration under Pakatan Harapan (PH) scored the highest rating among all six states that will be facing elections on Saturday.

Ilham Centre’s survey found that the state’s administration received good feedback from survey respondents for its policies and administration.

Penang had been under the PH administration since 2008 and goes into the state polls with a confidence of retaining it.

“Penang received a high approval rating of 78% on matters of welfare, economic growth, supply of clean water, land management and administrative matters,” the think tank said in a statement today.

“As a comparison, Kelantan’s PAS administration only received a 60% approval rating, with major complaints on clean water supply and issues related to local government.”

After Penang, the satisfaction level was highest for Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and lastly Kelantan.

PH previously helmed the first three states, while the latter three were under Perikatan Nasional.

The survey was conducted from July 11 to 27, covering 2,416 respondents from six states that will be going to the polls this Saturday.

Ilham Centre said the findings were not reflective of the mood nationwide but was only limited to the six states facing elections. – August 10, 2023.
