THE unity government has given an assurance it will draw more foreign and domestic investments to Kelantan if the Barisan Nasional-Pakatan Harapan (BN-PH) alliance wins the state elections on Saturday.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that is one area BN-PH will focus on, aside from the education sector and creating job opportunities for the people in Kelantan.
“We will bring more foreign investors to Kelantan and then provide job opportunities.
“We do not want Kelantan folk to be jobless and go elsewhere to look for jobs,” he said.
Zahid said this when speaking at the Pasir Puteh BN-PH election machinery and supporters gathering at Kampung Pulau Lima Uthmaniyah open hall in Pasir Puteh yesterday.
Also present were Umno secretary-general Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Kelantan Umno chairman Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub and Pasir Puteh Umno division chief Zawawi Othman.
Meanwhile, Zahid, who is also BN chairman, stressed that Islam is never challenged under the unity government.
Instead, he said allocations for Islamic affairs and institutions have increased since the unity government took over the country’s administration.
“Since taking over, has Islam been threatened or challenged?
“Instead, there have been more (allocations) compared with the time of the previous three prime ministers,” he said. – Bernama, August 10, 2023.
