PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin must tell his son-in-law, Muhammad Adlan Berhan, to come home and prove his innocence in court, said Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“If you are innocent, why should you be afraid? Why run away? Prove it in court, face the charges and face the trial,” said Zahid.

“I am also facing charges. I pleaded not guilty and appeared in court for the hearing. I didn’t run away or flee abroad,” he told a press conference after attending “Leader with the Community” in Pasir Puteh today.

Also present were Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Umno Pasir Puteh leader Zawawi Othman and Barisan Nasional’s Semerak candidate Marshella Ali.

Reports said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is looking for Adlan, 48, and lawyer Mansoor Saat, 69, to assist in a probe into the registration, recruitment and biometric information storage of foreign workers for a ministry.

Checks by MACC found Adlan and Mansoor left Malaysia on May 17 and 21, respectively, and that there is no record of them having returned to the country. – Bernama, August 9, 2023.
