LEE Khai Loon, the Pakatan Harapan candidate for Machang Bubuk, fell down unconscious today, his aides said

The administrators on his Facebook page posted the news, accompanied by a picture of Lee lying face down in what appears to be an office. They announced that today’s programmes organised by Lee’s office are cancelled.

They did not say what caused Lee to collapse. 

“YB Khai Loon fell unconscious, all programmes are cancelled today. Harap maaf,” according to an administrator of his official Facebook page. 

Chinese daily Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported Lee’s assistant as saying that the candidate had been feeling unwell for a few days and was dizzy today.

“He is currently conscious, but his physical condition is still being monitored,” the aide said.

PH’s Pantai Jerejak candidate Fahmi Zainol, who is a PKR central committee member, tweeted that Lee could have been tired or affected by the weather.

Lee, who is also from PKR, won the Machang Bubuk seat in 2013 and retained it in 2018.

He faces Perikatan Nasional’s Tan Hum Wei in a straight fight for the Penang seat on August 12. – August 6, 2023.
