PERIKATAN Nasional’s (PN) Pandan Indah candidate Fazil Mohamad Dali has attempted to shut down talk over his past alleged gangster links.

With state elections campaigning in its nascent stage, Fazli, better known as Ayahanda Cik Ton, said he was disappointed his opponents have turned the old issue into “political ammo”, simply to create a negative perception of PN.

“All that gangster talk is just ammunition to shoot PN down.

“The most important thing is our sacrifices and goals that can be conveyed to the community to help ease their daily lives,” he told reporters while on the campaign trail.

When asked if he was okay with being called Ayahanda Cik Ton, Fazil said the title was already synonymous with him.

The 49-year-old said he will not be complacent in his campaigning despite having many followers on TikTok.

The father of 15 children said when responsibility is given, he cannot showboat his popularity.

“We must be kind to the people. It is up to the public to judge and accept me.

“If they like me, then they will vote. Right now, all the candidates are fighting to achieve the same goal, which is to win,” he said.

Pandan Indah is seeing a four-cornered contest among Fazli, Pakatan Harapan’s Izham Hashim, Lisa Redzuan from Muda and Independent R. Sivaneswaran.

Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu head to the polls on August 12. – August 2, 2023.
