KEDAH Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Mahdzir Khalid said he believes rejection of the bloc in the November general election (GE) has waned.

Mahdzir, who is BN candidate for Pedu in the August 12 state elections, said support for BN has returned to what it was pre-GE.

“The wave of last November (during the GE) was so huge that it let Perikatan Nasional (PN) win many votes… Now the wave is no more and we are back to the original situation.

“In the absence of that wave, I expect stiff competition between PN and the Pakatan Harapan-BN coalition to take control of the state administration,” he told reporters after a meeting with Kampung Kubang Kenyeng residents in Kuala Nerang today.

Mahdzir said people should vote based on candidates’ track records instead of buying into political sentiment. – Bernama, July 31, 2023.
