PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim said it is not unusual for parties to make last-minute changes to their election candidates list.
The PH chairman said PKR had switched some of the its candidates because it was necessary to do so.
“We (PH) had three (last-minute) changes, one in Kota Damansara (Selangor) and one each in Kelantan and Terengganu,” he said after breakfast in Ampang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, today.
The Prime Minister, who is also the PKR president, however, did not share the details of which state seats in Kelantan and Terengganu were involved in the last-minute change.
He was talking about the change of PKR candidate for Kota Damansara, which was announced by the party vice-president Amirudin Shari late last night.
Aidi Amin Yazid was replaced by the Selangor PKR youth chief Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim.
“He (Izuan) is the Selangor AMK chief, and we (PKR) do not have an youth candidate in Selangor so I think it is appropriate to field him as the candidate. I hope he is welcomed by all,” Anwar said. – Bernama, July 29, 2023.
