PAKATAN Harapan (PH) chairman Anwar Ibrahim said it is common for there to be dissatisfaction before any election.
“In this world, especially during elections, not everyone will be happy, we cannot please everyone… So we will listen and respect as well as try our best to explain the decisions, but not everyone will be happy. I believe the selection was done with everyone’s best interests (at heart),” he said after handing letters of appointment to six PKR candidates in Negri Sembilan.
When asked if such issues can derail support for the party, Anwar said the situation is under control, and urged all members to give new candidates a chance.
“This is an opportunity for others, and we must have a second echelon of leaders. The same people cannot remain forever,” he said.
Anwar said PH’s manifesto was done differently across the six states holding elections.
The candidates who received their letters from Anwar today were Aminuddin Harun (Sikamat), Tengku Zamrah Sulaiman (Ampangan), Nur Zunita Begum (Pilah), Ismail Ahmad (Labu), Yew Boon Lye (Chuah) and Dr Rajasekaran (Sri Tanjung). – Bernama, July 27, 2023.
