THE government will disburse RM100 each to Malaysians earning an annual income of RM100,000 and below, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today.
The amount will be credited into the e-wallets on some 10 million adult Malaysians, he added.
“The funds for this facility will reach about RM1 billion,” Anwar said at the launch of “Madani Economy: Empowering the People” at the Securities Commission today.
Last month, the government began distributing RM200 in the form of e-cash credit under the e-Tunai Belia Rahmah programme, involving some two million youths aged 18 to 20 with a total allocation of RM400 million.
Anwar said he made the announcement today was after taking into account the success of the e-cash programme. – July 27, 2023.
