Rest, my friend, says PM on Salahuddin’s death

THE death of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin Ayub earlier today has deeply affected Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the death of “a loyal friend” was a “great loss for myself and my family”.

“Salahuddin stood firm (with me) in this long struggle until the end.

“His favours and virtues certainly cannot be repaid materially,” he said in a statement.

Anwar also said that Salahuddin was known to have treated his friends and enemies alike, and was a hard working and responsible person in fulfilling his duties.

“Take your rest, my friend,” he said.

Salahuddin was pronounced dead at 9.23pm today after failing to recover from brain haemorrhage. He was 61. –  July 23, 2023.
