THE Education Ministry (MOE) has given autonomy to Form 6 college principals to recruit students, with immediate effect.

Minister Fadhlina Sidek said this move will allow principals to make direct offers to students who need the opportunity to continue their studies without having to wait for an offer from the ministry.

“The principals can find Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia school-leavers who have not been given placements for higher studies without (the students) having to wait for an offer from the ministry,” she told reporters after the opening of the Pewaris Generasi Madani gathering at SM Sains Sultan Mahmud in Kuala Nerus today.

At the event, Fadhlina handed over laptops sponsored by Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd to the school’s top eight scorers of Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia 2022.

Fadhlina said the autonomy granted to principals to offer direct placements guarantees wider access for B40 students to continue their studies. – Bernama, July 23, 2023.
