Doctors monitoring Salahuddin post-surgery, says daughter

Doctors are monitoring the condition of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin Ayub, who underwent surgery for a brain haemorrhage. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 23, 2023.

DOMESTIC Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin Ayub, who underwent surgery for brain haemorrhage yesterday, is still in intensive care and being closely monitored by the medical team at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star.

Salahuddin’s daughter Siti Fatihah in a statement today confirmed the matter and hoped the family are given due space during this time. 

“On the doctor’s advice and family’s request, I call for family members to be given space and time to visit. 

“On behalf of the family, we appreciate all the support and prayers. 

“I also ask everyone to continue to pray for the improvement of my father’s condition,” she said. 

Salahuddin yesterday underwent surgery for brain haemorrhage at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star. 

Amanah vice-president Mahfuz Omar said the minister had a successful surgery. 

“He was brought to the operating room at about 3.30am from the emergency ward.

“I am not sure how long the surgery lasted but I was informed by his bodyguard at about 8am that the surgery was successful,” he said. 

Salahuddin was rushed to the hospital at about 10pm Friday after complaining of nausea and vomiting. – July 23, 2023.
