BARISAN Nasional (BN) will announce its list of candidates for elections in six states on July 21.

BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this after the Unity Government Leadership Consultative Council meeting last night.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim chaired the meeting held at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

Also present at the meeting were Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip Fadillah Yusof and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu. 

The meeting was also attended by Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor; Sarawak Premier  Abang Johari Openg; Parti Demokratik Progresif president Tiong King Sing; Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah president Arthur Joseph Kurup and PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negri Sembilan will go to the polls on August 12.

Nominations are on July 29 and early voting, August 8. – Bernama, July 12, 2023.
