POLICE are investigating president Abdul Hadi Awang over his recent remarks alleging DAP is continuing British plans to destroy Malay supremacy aided by Malays who have forgotten their roots.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director G.S. Suresh Kumar said Hadi’s remarks, believed to have been made via Facebook, allegedly touched on race, religion and royalty.

Suresh said the probe was being carried out under section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“The investigation is ongoing and the public is advised not to make any speculations that may disrupt the investigation process,” he said in a statement today.

“Action will be taken against any party that threatens public order and national security.”

On Saturday, ahead of the state polls, Hadi attacked DAP, alleging that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) component party is continuing the plan started by the British colonialists to destroy Malay and Bumiputera supremacy with the support of Malays who have forgotten their roots.

He said DAP has elected Malay spokesmen who have forgotten their Malayness and are neglecting Islam as their religion, while also labelling Malays who defend their race and religion as racist.

Suresh reportedly said Bukit Aman had launched an investigation against DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng over his alleged remark regarding the destruction of temples if Perikatan Nasional wins Penang in the state elections.

Lim’s remark also allegedly touched on 3R, that the “green wave” will lead to the destruction of temples and denial of religious rights in Penang.

Lim responded by saying China Press and MalaysiaNow had misquoted him.

He said he had never mentioned Chinese or Buddhist temples in Penang, but was referring to the demolition of a Hindu temple in Kedah in 2020. – July 10, 2023.
