THE preliminary report on the waterfall flood on Saturday in Jeram Mawar, Air Putih, near Chukai, is expected to be completed soon.
Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the Minerals and Geosciences Department is in the midst of inspecting the site while the police have opened an investigation into the water surge that swept away 10 people, including a family picnicking at the waterfall.
“The report is expected to be ready soon,” he said in Kelantan, today.
Two bodies were recovered in separate locations about 12.30pm yesterday. They were identified as Azizah Eiyi, 40, and her son Zulqarnain Haikal Karim, 11.
Eight others still missing are Karim Abdullah, 39; Putri Balqis Izzati Abdul Rahman, 18; Muhammad Fikri Saliman, 24; Putri Alleya Maisarah Karim, 16; Putri Nor Fatin Karim, 14; Putri Nurerina Natasya Karim, 10; Muhammad Haziq Ziqree Karim, 6; and Putri Aryana Umaira Karim, 4. – Bernama, July 3, 2023.
