NEGRI Sembilan will dissolve its state assembly on Saturday.
Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun announced the dissolution date following an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir earlier today.
“I will request the speaker’s office to notify the Election Commission. This will pave the way for state elections to be held simultaneously with the five other states also holding state polls,” Aminuddin said at a press conference today.
Apart from Negri Sembilan, the other states are Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Penang and Selangor.
Aminuddin said the state will be helmed by a caretaker government after the dissolution.
“It is to ensure that government service remains efficient.
“All our duties and functions are as caretakers. It’s just that we can’t have meetings on policies,” he said.
Negri Sembilan will be the last state to dissolve its assembly.
Penang, Terengganu and Kedah dissolved its legislative assemblies today, Selangor on June 23, and Kelantan on June 22. – June 28, 2023.
