SELANGOR has declared Friday a holiday for civil servants under the state administration, said state secretary Haris Kasim. 

He said the additional holiday was in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji, which falls on Thursday. 

He noted that the additional holiday was mainly for civil servants serving in state departments, agencies, and local government. 

“However, statutory bodies, state-owned companies and the private sector are not subject to this. It is up to the respective employers (to follow suit),” he said. 

This is the first time the state has declared an extra day for Hari Raya Haji.  

Hari Raya Haji is celebrated over two days in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah. – June 27, 2023.
