BARISAN Nasional (BN) has expressed its commitment to DAP in facing state elections, said DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.
He said BN’s commitment was expressed by chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also deputy prime minister.
“I heard the BN chairman’s commitment is quite good. We take the commitment from the BN chairman himself. Other views, we do not take into account,” he told reporters after officiating the Association of Driving Training Centres Operators in Malaysia’s annual general meeting in Putrajaya today.
Yesterday, MCA Youth secretary-general Daniel Wa said his wing suggested the party machinery not help any BN candidate campaign if they act arrogant after becoming “friends” with DAP.
Today, Zahid said statements from any BN component’s main leader do not reflect the coalition’s official stance.
