KELANTAN is expected to dissolve its legislative assembly this week and pave the way for state elections according to a report by Astro Awani.
It quoted Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob as saying that the dissolution date will be confirmed after the state executive council’s weekly meeting on Wednesday.
“We will await the timing in this week’s exco meeting, Insha-Allah (God willing),” he was quoted as saying in the report.
The current term of the Kelantan state legislative assembly will expire at the end of June.
Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Abdullah also confirmed the imminent announcement.
Currently PAS controls 37 seats in the 45 seat assembly with Umno holding seven while Bersatu has one seat. – June 11, 2023.
