PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today said the state would dissolve its legislative assembly on June 28 to pave the way for its election.
Chow added that all necessary arrangements would be made.
“We are proposing June 28 to dissolve the state legislative assembly. We will arrange (things) accordingly,” he told the media today, NST reported.
Six states – Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, and Terengganu – are set to hold their elections by August.
The chief minister and menteris besar had previously agreed to dissolve their respective state assemblies within the last two weeks of June. – June 8, 2023.
