A MAN caught on tape assaulting a female driver on the Cameron Highlands-Tapah route has been remanded for three days, said Tapah police.

Tapah police chief Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said a remand order was issued on the 29-year-old suspect – a Serdang factory supervisor – from today until Friday.

“The remand request for the suspect was made at the Tapah magistrate’s court under section 323/506/509 of the penal code for three days until Friday,” he said when contacted.

Yesterday, the man was arrested in Serdang and taken to the Tapah police station.

Earlier, a 59-second viral clip showed a man exiting his car and knocking on the window of the vehicle behind him, scolding the female driver and hitting her on the head.

The incident is thought to have resulted from a misunderstanding between the man and the woman on the path around Lata Iskandar Resort. – Bernama, June 7, 2023.
