IN conjunction with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s official birthday today, 839 people will be given federal awards, honours, and medals.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul will be given the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which carries the title “Tan Sri”.

Also receiving the PSM are 25 others, including Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Abdul Rahman Sebli; Federal Court judge Nallini Pathmanathan; former Federal Court judge Mohd Zawawi Salleh; former Kelantan menteri besar the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat; and Engtex Group Bhd managing director Ng Hook.

Other recipients are Maxim Global Bhd group managing director Gan Seong Liam; DPS Resources Bhd chairman Sow Chin Chuan; Sime Darby Plantation Bhd non-independent and non-executive director Nik Norzul Thani Nik Hassan Thani; and composer Ahmad Khan Nawab Khan.

Meanwhile, Education Director-General Pkharuddin Ghazali; Treasury secretary-general Johan Mahmood Merican; former national badminton player Tan Aik Huang; and Yayasan Kebajikan Artis Tanahair chairman Irwan Shah Abdullah @ DJ Dave are among 28 recipients of the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Jasa Negara, which carries the title “Datuk”.

The four recipients of the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Diraja, which carries the title “Datuk”, are Conference of Rulers assistant secretary Mohd Aseral Jusman; Foreign Ministry protocol and consular chief Mohd Aini Atan; cabinet deputy secretary-general Abdul Halim Hamzah; and Armed Forces chief of staff Arman Rumaizi Ahmad.

Thirty-three people will receive the Darjah Kebesaran Johan Mangku Negara, including Communications and Digital Ministry deputy secretary-general Mastura Ahmad Mustafa and Bernama chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin.

The king, clad in his official attire and accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, was greeted on arrival at Istana Negara by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. – Bernama, June 5, 2023.
