A 23-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested last week in connection with the death of Satishwaran Sathiasilan, who was killed by a chair flung from the 21st floor of a low-cost flat in Kuala Lumpur, in January.

The woman’s arrest follows a chemical report, said Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim.

She was remanded for three days until March 16 to facilitate investigation but was released after passing a lie-detector test.

The suspect has been released on court bond after her remand order ended, Mazlan said in a statement.

The case remains open.

On January 15, Sathiswaran, 14, was killed by a chair thrown from the upper floors of the Seri Pantai People’s Housing Project in Pantai Dalam.

The teen died on the spot from severe head injuries in the 8.15pm incident.

Police have recorded statements from 43 people and voice stress analysis (VSA) was used on five suspects but the results were negative.

Sathiswaran’s father, K. Sathiasilan told The Malaysian Insight the family were being kept in the dark over investigations into the case. – March 23, 2018.

  • Why is out police not professional in handling cases like this? Where was the communication with the family? It reminded me of Pastor Koh's disappearance. Are they trying to cover up something?

  • I never like or respect our police force. But I must salute them for this job - well-done. Now bring the culprit to jail
