THE Ministry of Economy will soon let the public apply for funds to carry out small-scale projects.

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said the application system is being prepared and his ministry will elaborate further when it is introduced.

According to him, the system will shorten the application process. 

The public could submit input and development proposals to the government that could be matched with the related departments, he added.

“We will first start with small projects as usually they are not planned by the government; the existence of these projects are only known to the assemblymen,” he said.

“(Whether they) get or not (application for allocation), it has to go through the process. We have to work with the district offices and others,” he said.

According to Rafizi, the applications could be submitted directly to the Economy Ministry. – Bernama, June 1, 2023.
