THE Dewan Rakyat sitting today will discuss the amount of unclaimed money as of March 31 and proposals by the government to use the money for national development.

The Order Paper on the parliament website said the question will be raised by Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang-PH) to Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the question-and-answer session.

Also on the list is a question from Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail (Kubang Pasu-PN) to the foreign minister about how the government is planning to restore Malaysia’s international glory, position and role with the country being seen as increasingly isolated and less dynamic than it was in the 1980s and 1990s.

Mohd Sany Hamzan (Hulu Langat-PH) will ask the human resources minister if his ministry will set up an incentive fund to help employers, especially those of private companies, provide internship opportunities for university students with reasonable compensation.

After the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will debate the Insolvency (Amendment) Bill 2023.

Today’s sitting will see the second reading of several bills, including the Fees (Broadcasting Department)(Validation) Bill 2023, Renewable Energy (Amendment) Bill 2023 and Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Amendment) Bill 2023.

This Dewan Rakyat session will last until tomorrow before resuming on June 6 to 15. – Bernama, May 24, 2023.
