THE South Korean Air Force’s Black Eagles aerobatic team will stage a friendship flight with Malaysian jets today over the Langkawi airport, in a move to bolster bilateral defence ties, officials said.
The aerobatic team is scheduled to conduct the flight later in the day after arriving in the country on Thursday to join the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima) at Langkawi International Airport from today to Saturday.
After the air show’s opening ceremony, eight T-50B aircraft will fly with seven Malaysian Air Force jets, including the F/A-18 aircraft, to promote bilateral ties, South Korea’s Air Force was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.
The Black Eagles are scheduled to stage one or two performances a day throughout Lima, showcasing skilled aerial manoeuvres and promoting South Korean-built aircraft, the air force said.
It has mobilised nine T-50B jets and three C-130 transport planes, along with some 110 of its people, to participate in the event. – Bernama, May 23, 2023.
