A FIRE broke out at Mid Valley Megamall early today. 

A spokesman from the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said the fire started at a TNB substation room inside the mall.

Several videos of the fire have now gone viral. 

An employee in Mid Valley, who did not want to be named, said access to the mall is now closed. 

Meanwhile, cinema operator Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) will cancel all shows today following the incident. 

“While our cinemas are not directly affected, we are cooperating with local authorities and the mall’s management to ensure everyone’s safety.

“As such, all shows at GSC Mid Valley KL will be cancelled and the cinema will be temporarily closed until further notice. 

“We will be issuing refunds for all purchased tickets,” it said in a statement. – May 17, 2023.
