BERSATU’S top brass has agreed to postpone divisional and supreme council elections for a period of not more than 18 months in accordance with clause 14.15 of the party’s constitution.

Its secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin in a statement today said the agreement was reached after supreme council meeting chaired by Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday.

“Bersatu is fully prepared to face the six state elections that will take place soon with all the strength of the party machinery being streamlined,” he said.

In the meantime, he said Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN) are confident of a big win in the state elections, by defending Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah, and would work hard to capture Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Penang.

At the same time, Bersatu also invited the public to the PN open house on May 21 at Raja Muda Musa Hall, Selangor State Youth and Cultural Complex, Section 7, Shah Alam from 8pm to 11pm. – Bernama, May 13, 2023.
