POLICE will call Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to have his statement recorded over a video showing him allegedly instigating children to hate the federal government at the launch of a tuition programme in Jelutong on Saturday.

State police chief A. Thaiveegan said police will also call several other individuals, including the complainants, to record their statements.

“Police will request for a report from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to trace the owner of the social web account that viralled the video concerned to facilitate investigations,” he told a press conference in George Town today.

He said police have recorded statements from three individuals.

He said four reports have been lodged against the video by individuals and civil society organisations.

“After we have completed the investigation papers, we will refer the matter to the deputy public prosecutor’s office for further action.”
