POLICE are scrutinising reports of misconduct by their officers submitted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said.

This came after MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said more than 500 reports on incidences of misconduct were gathering dust because some government agencies were not acting on them.

It was reported that of the 533 reports submitted by the MACC, the majority concerned the police (125). Coming in second was the Road Transport Department (RTD).

Acryl said Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department has already prepared a complete report on the issue.

“The police have never compromised or been complacent,” Acryl was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

“We always worked closely with every agency to ensure the police’s integrity is always upheld.” – May 10, 2023.
