PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim today attended the 2023 Asean Summit opening and plenary sessions to discuss issues of common interest to the regional group.
Eight heads of government out of 10 member states participated in the summit, except for Myanmar, which was not invited, and Thailand, which is holding its polls on Sunday.
Also present were Asean secretary-general Kao Kim Hourn and Timor Leste Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak.
The leaders began their two-day meeting to discuss several important issues to encourage the strengthening of its economic resilience to face current challenges.
