CLAIMS that Umno will be launching a “love DAP campaign” on social media are slanderous, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

The deputy prime minister said the claim, which has been spread on WhatsApp over the past few days, was an opposition dirty trick.

“Whoever creates such slander should stop as the people are able to discern what is right, and what is slanderous. Those using this tactic should repent,” he said in Lenggong today.

Earlier a digital poster went viral, claiming Zahid will be launching an “Umno Loves DAP” campaign.

The poster also said that, among the five objectives of the campaign, Umno wanted to convince its grassroots that DAP was not as bad as it had previously portrayed.

Meanwhile, Zahid said that any Umno member can appeal a suspension, following Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s application to this end. – Bernama, May 6, 2023.
