THE opposition can submit statutory declarations (SD) to prove it has a parliamentary majority during the next session, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.
He added that Perikatan Nasional (PN) is welcome to submit a motion and he will not have a problem, if indeed it is true that the coalition has gathered enough support from MPs.
“It doesn’t matter, during Parliament bring SDs and call for a motion in parliament, no problem.
“PN has been saying this every week, before Raya, before fasting, before Thaipusam, even Chinese New Year.
“Yet I am very confident our unity government will remain until the next election,” he said to reporters after attending the Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s anniversary at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, today.
He was responding to claims that PN has acquired sufficient support to unseat the government and will nominate coalition secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin as prime minister. – May 5, 2023.
