PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim today wished Buddhists a Happy Wesak Day.

In a post on Facebook, Anwar said Buddhists are today commemorating the birth, death and enlightenment of Gautama Buddha.

“Buddhists believe that to achieve the highest level of happiness, or nirvana, is to fight and eliminate greed, hatred and evil. This is a universal philosophy that can be emulated to cultivate love, human dignity, respect, and peaceful co-existence,” he said.

The prime minister reminded Malaysians to practise love, peace and understanding. – Bernama, May 4, 2023.
