Landslide shuts out Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy building in Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Kuala Lumpur has been temporarily shut after a massive landslide destroyed a guard post near its entrance.

The City Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said its operations commander E. Yogeswaran, along with seven others and a fire engine, were deployed to the scene.

“They arrived at the building at Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and found that a landslide occurred at the entrance to the building and its guard post was destroyed.

“The affected area is estimated to be 30m x 36m,” it added.

A total of 76 people – 36 men and 40 women – who were at the scene were evacuated.

The building has been temporarily closed while slope experts from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Public Works Department conduct inspections in the area.
