PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim today dismissed allegations that the government decided to hold the Malaysia Madani Hari Raya open house in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu because these PAS-led states will be holding state elections this year.

The prime minister said other states including Selangor will be holding similar events for the festival.

“Many states, Selangor too,” he told reporters briefly at Masjid As-Salam, Pangsapuri Petaling Perma, Petaling Jaya, in response to allegations that the government deliberately chose these states because they are controlled by the opposition with state elections looming.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Department announced that the Malaysia Madani open house will be held in Kedah on April 29, Kelantan on May 12 and Terengganu on May 13, with the prime minister in attendance.

The department also said Anwar was expected to attend three other open house events in Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan. – Bernama, April 21, 2023.
