SINGAPORE authorities said they anticipate heavy traffic at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints over the Hari Raya holiday.
“Traffic is expected to be heavy from now to Monday,” the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) said on its website today.
“Those who wish to depart to Malaysia or enter Singapore by car or bus are advised to factor in additional waiting time for immigration clearance,” it added.
According to the ICA, traffic flow through the checkpoints has returned to pre-Covid levels during peak hours.
During the Hari Raya long weekend in 2018, more than 1.5 million travellers passed through the checkpoints, averaging about 380,000 crossings per day, it said.
The ICA noted that the waiting time for travellers departing by car to clear Singapore’s land checkpoints was up to three hours.
