THE government has reiterated that there are adequate food supplies to last throughout the Hari Raya festive period.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin Ayub said members of the public need not worry because enforcement agencies are constantly monitoring the supply of raw goods, such as chicken, eggs and vegetables.

“Spend happily and don’t make panic purchases because the enforcement authorities will monitor every day to ensure supply, given the high demand ahead of Syawal,” he said in Kota Baru today.

Salahuddin also reminded the public to immediately lodge a complaint if they suspect traders of profiteering.

“We hope that the public can check the price list of the goods that we announced so that it is easy for us to identify the traders involved, because every complaint from consumers will be noted,” he said. – Bernama, April 16, 2023.
