TENAGA Nasional Berhad (TNB) said 9,400 employees throughout Peninsular Malaysia will be on duty to ensure supply during Hari Raya.
TNB chairman Abdul Razak Abdul Majid said rostering and standby assignments at power stations, control centres and the entire service chain – including the grid and substations – will ensure smooth transmission, distribution of electricity supply and customer service readiness.
“Although these tasks are routine, it is the employees’ sacrifice for the people who will be happily celebrating with their families, while the employees will be on field duty,” he said in a statement.
In the same statement, TNB president and chief executive officer Baharin Din said staffing levels would take into account the critical three-day period from the day before the beginning of Syawal.
“Monitoring in each state will also be increased ahead of Syawal on the expectation that people will return early to their hometowns and those who take the opportunity to travel for the public holidays,” he said. – Bernama, April 16, 2023.
