PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) has completed its seat distribution in four states with only Negri Sembilan and Selangor pending, its election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said.

He said seat negotiations had been completed in Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

Seats in the latter three states are all held by PAS, which is part of PN. The other parties in the coalition are Bersatu and Gerakan.

Penang, Selangor and Negri Sembilan are controlled by Pakatan Harapan.

Polls for the six states are expected to be held by the middle of the year.

“For Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Penang, everything has been settled,” Sanusi was quoted as saying in New Straits Times today.

“We (PN seat negotiation committee) will meet again on Sunday.”

Sanusi, who is also Kedah menteri besar, also confirmed that certain outstanding issues with seat distribution will be ironed out during the meeting.

He said more discussions are needed before seat distribution in Negri Sembilan and Selangor is settled.

“There’s no big deal about this. It’s just about certain candidates wanting to be ‘useful’, so we will renegotiate,” he added. – April 14, 2023.
