SELANGOR Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari expects negotiations for seats between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) to be nearly completed by the end of the month in preparation for elections in six states.

Amirudin, who is the Selangor PH chairman, said the outcome of the talks would be presented to his coalition’s central leadership for approval.

“Discussions over seat distribution will continue until nomination day, but we have set a timeframe to ensure that 80 to 90% of it will be  completed by the end of April.

“We hope it will be achieved but even if it is not achieved, we will continue the discussions because the important thing is to have a strategy,” he said in Shah Alam, today.

He said the unity government of PH and BN in Selangor is working together as a team in readiness for the Unity Government National Convention on May 14.

PH holds 40 of the seats in the Selangor assembly. BN has five, PBM and Pejuang two each and PAS, Warisan and Independent one each. – Bernama, April 12, 2023.
