POLICE arrested a 26-year-old woman at her home in Petaling Jaya on Thursday on suspicion of abusing her 10-month-old son.

Petaling Jaya police chief Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid said in a statement today the woman was arrested after a report was lodged by Shah Alam Hospital, where the boy had been taken for treatment and staff had discovered bruises all over his body.

According to Fakhruddin, the boy remains in hospital and the woman has been remanded for four days to facilitate investigation under section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. – Bernama, April 8, 2023.
